Allaah’s Love

When you feel like you have done everything and Allaah clearly intervenes to signal to you that you will not have what you are after, or at least for the meantime, you really ought to rejoice at His rejection. Do you know how painful it would have been if He lets you run after something you desire badly and for a very long time, giving it all your efforts, only to fail in the end? The pain would be incredible. It is out of His love and mercy for you that He tells you to stop, take a breath, let go. He will either give it to you later, or give you something better. Whatever it is, please don’t ever ever think that He doesn’t love you. Because He does, more than you’ll ever know it, more than you’ll ever imagine it. And even if you think you’re unworthy. His love is for all, and He is hope to everyone.

Fear

It’s getting tougher, it’s getting more straining.

They’re trying to get you, now they’ve got you.

They’re surrounding you and you’re outnumbered.

Oh boy, looks like a downfall ahead.

Looks like humiliation ahead.

Heart racing, mind’s boggling.

Oh no, oh no.

Nowhere to hide and nowhere to run. Definitely cornered.

Oh no, oh no.

It was all my fault and this would not have happened had I not made it happen. Definitely blameworthy.

Wait a minute.

Stop running, stop panicking. More

Mercy of The Prophet

Prophet Muhammad PBUH was not like any other man. And no man has, is and will ever be like him subhan Allaah. He is truly one of a kind. His many distinct and beautiful traits make him the ultimate example for the rest of mankind. During his lifetime, he taught people of different races, backgrounds and religions how to behave like true human beings, brothers in humanity and above all, worthy servants of Allaah SWT.

Of his many beautiful traits, the one most known of him and the one that supremely defines his character is his merciful, forgiving and loving nature. He was indeed a man who forgave immensely, generously and repeatedly, all for the sake of Allaah. His merciful acts have been displayed in various and numerous public instances, both in social and military conquest events. But that is just a slice of all the merciful acts he has shown during his life. Doubtlessly, as a Prophet, a Messenger, a Leader, a father, an adopted son, a husband, a grandfather, his mercy and absolutely pleasing character has also manifested their presence in so many different occasions and situations.

He was sincere, genuine, transparent and trustworthy. His was a profoundly and consistently beautiful and generous character, that made him Allaah’s closest man and the Muslims’ role model. More

A Glimpse of Muhammad s.a.w

English Tafsir

Reading the Quraan without understanding is like looking at a beautiful red rose but not appreciating it. It is like glancing up at a sunset sky but not being amazed. Or like watching a TV show about how the universe works and not being at awe. You do not have a mental epiphany or feel wonder unless you let the experience sit in deep. Indeed and likely, the beauty and wisdom of the Quraan is found in the meanings behind its artistic description and profound Arabic words.

Reading the Quraan is beneficial spiritually and mentally only if it is accompanied with deep understanding and reflection. The Quraan in its very essence is Allaah’s direct connection to each one of us, our identity and guide as Muslims more so now than in any other previous era. It contains everything that Allaah has said that we need to know in order to live our lives successfully in preparation for the next. Hence, it is no surprise that we need to establish a connection with the book as a way to establish a connection with Allaah and know who we truly are as an Ummah. More

Little Pharaohs

The Man Who Called Himself God

The Man Who Called Himself God

Despite knowing the story of Pharaoh and Moses by heart since I was at least 7 years old, I never really appreciated it till now. It just never fascinated me as much as it fascinated the rest of the world. I felt that it was a story that belonged to some other religion, and that we just had to know it. Lately though, the more I observe myself and the world around me the more I marvel at the wisdom behind the tale of the Man Who Called Himself God.

You see, I’ve always wondered, what was it that Pharaoh did that was so horrible that it angered Allah and made Him part the sea to swallow Pharaoh up? Was it his godless acts towards the Israelites? Was it his arrogant and egoistic words that proclaimed his divinity? Or was it the fact that he rejected the Message Moses brought him?

Most importantly, what drove him to be such a merciless human being, fearless of his Creator? I mean, surely, no one is born a criminal. So how did Pharaoh come to be like this? More

The Ocean of Dunya

Life is a lot like the Ocean

Yesterday, I went to the beach. As I sat watching the massive Californian waves, I realized something strange. The ocean is so breathtakingly beautiful. But just as it is beautiful, it is also deadly. The same spellbinding waves, which we appreciate from the shore, can kill us if we enter them. Water, the same substance necessary to sustain life, can end life, in drowning. And the same ocean that holds ships afloat can shatter those ships to pieces.

This worldly life, the dunya, is just like the ocean. And our hearts are the ships. We can use the ocean for our needs and as a means to get to our final destination. But the ocean is only that: a means. It is a means for seeking food of the sea. It is a means of travel. It is a means of seeking a higher purpose. But it is something which we only pass through, but never think to remain in. Imagine what would happen if the ocean became our end – rather than just a means.

Eventually we would drown. More
